Where would a nurse have been trained in 1923?

When my my great aunt came to the States in 1923, she was already a trained nurse. I was wondering how and where a young lady would get training as a nurse during this era. (Question posted by one our Facebook Friends) 

That would very much depend on where in Ireland she lived. However, I have been able to find a few resources for you,that will hopefully prove helpful. Today, the governing authority for Nurses and Midwives in Ireland is the “An Bord Altranais”, which was created in 1950. Before that, there were two separate boards, the Central Midwives Board and the General Nursing Council, which is where nurses were registered, which had each been established in 1918 & 1919, respectively.You can read a little more about that development here: https://www.nmbi.ie/What-We-Do/History The archives of the An Bord Altranais are accessible for research purposes, however I am unsure whether this would include records from the two preceding boards.
